This flat weave fabric with raised relief offers a crispness of detail, rich and varied vegetable dye colors and design that transcends both distance and time. The patterns are inspired by the tunics and bed covers of the Berbers of the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco and the ceremonial textiles of the Ivory Coast. From pre-Columbian Bolivia to 20th Century Bauhaus, a marriage of many different weaving traditions introduced in a single new weave, Rumal is offered in three styles , each hinting of the colorful histories from which it draws.
