NCU 407 Mutton Fish. This image is taken from The Natural History of Carolina, Florida, and the Bahama Islands by famed English naturalist Mark Catesby. More than 250 watercolors drawn between 1712 and 1726 provide one of the most complete records of flora and fauna from colonial America. A copy of the two-volume work, published 1731-1747, is in the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation collection.
